We have many
references that we can give you as we have sold many Maltese puppies and have
lots of happy owners willing to share their happiness with others. My husband
and I love the Maltese breed and enjoy every aspect of breeding them. We make it our ultimate priority to make sure
that all of our adults and puppies are clean, healthy and happy. We constantly keep one in our arms giving
them love and kisses and they just eat this up!
Ever since we got our very first Maltese thirteen years ago, from Nell
Boykin, who owned Bluefield Kennels in Wilson, NC, we fell in love with the
breed and knew then that we wanted to position our lives around more
Maltese. Our first little boy,
named "Oliver" turned our lives upside down. My husband was afraid to
have a dog in the house because of bad experiences he had growing up but
after months of begging he finally gave in. Now we challenge each
other to get Oliver's attention each night. But Oliver is sweet, this
is a typical Maltese temperament, he will sit with me for about 10
minutes and then get up and go sit with my husband for about 10
minutes. I usually win and Oliver comes back to sit with me for the
remainder of the night. But Oliver wants to make us both happy and
actually takes the time to give us both attention.
There is a lot of work involved
in breeding Maltese and probably any breed, but I find most of what I do as very therapeutic for me. It will take me an entire Saturday to bathe
all of my Maltese but the great thing is I enjoy every minute of it and so do my Maltese. They sit in the sink and look at me with such
enjoyment on their faces as if they are in the spa for the day. I talk to them and they look me in the eye and listen to me as if they
know exactly what I am saying to them. I’m
not crazy, they really do understand me!
Ha ha.
Everyone
that
knows Maltese knows their sweet little personalities and how smart they
are. Maltese are also hypoallergenic and non shedding dogs. People with allergies come over and sit for
several hours playing with our Maltese just to see how they will react and
there is never any reaction. I encourage
you to do the same. Schedule a time to
sit and play with our Maltese and see if your allergies flare up but I can bet
that they won’t. If you have allergies
then a Maltese is the best breed for you!
This is a great benefit of the Maltese breed, not to mention that they are so
small but have such a large personality.
They love to keep you on a schedule and the older they get the stricter
they get with their schedules. Our 13
year old male, Oliver, makes sure that I get in bed every evening around
10:30. He will walk to the front door to
be let out to go potty and then makes a “b” line to the bedroom and looks back
at me to make sure I am right behind him.
He is so funny, if I sit back in the living room after letting him out then he will start the
routine over again in about 15 minutes by going back to the front door to be let out.
Maltese
are wonderful with kids. You just need to make sure that younger kids
are gentle and hold
them while sitting down because it only takes one drop while standing
and
holding a small Maltese to injure the puppy or even an adult Maltese for
that matter. You have to anticipate that if they were to take a quick
jump from your arms that you have a good hold on them because I have
seen Maltese jump like that many times. Sometimes when they are ready
to get down they just jump and as I said they have big personalities and
don't see their small size as any hindrance to what they want to do.
The same thing goes with being on a bed or on a couch, if they are ready
to get down, they will just make the jump so keep a good eye on them if
you have a tiny one or a high couch for that matter.
We
encourage you to come and visit our home and meet all of our beautiful
Maltese. We are home basically all the
time and typically just need a couple hours notice.
I will be happy to answer all of your unanswered questions either one on
one over the phone or via an email or however you feel comfortable. I can talk “Maltese” for hours!
We will
be happy to deliver a puppy to you if you can’t make the drive to our
home. We will be happy to send many
pictures in advance and videos as well so that you can get a good idea of the
puppy’s look and personality. We have
many people that start a “baby book” for their new puppy so we send new born
pictures via email and update them as often as they wish. We do charge a fee to deliver if more than a
couple of hours away from us (round trip) otherwise there is typically not a
fee to deliver within a couple of hours round trip. Some of the areas we will consider delivering
to are Wake County, WAKE COUNTY, Nash County, NASH County, Franklin County, FRANKLIN
COUNTY, Orange County, ORANGE COUNTY, Johnston County, JOHNSTON COUNTY, Moore
County, MOORE COUNTY, New Hanover County, NEW HANOVER COUNTY, North Carolina,
NORTH CAROLINA, South Carolina, SOUTH CAROLINA, Virginia, VIRGINIA, GEORGIA,
Georgia, Florida, FLORIDA. We sell our Maltese to cities and counties all over NC and will also deliver if you need us to.
